About Cornerstone

Cornerstone was built for owners who have built something real, but feel the weight of carrying too much of it alone.

Many businesses look successful from the outside. But behind the scenes, everything still depends on the owner to keep it moving. Cornerstone exists to help business owners reduce that dependency, create stronger structure, and build companies that can eventually support their lives instead of consuming them.

We understand the world construction owners operate in because we grew up around it.

Cornerstone was built around a simple observation: many construction entrepreneurs know how to build successful companies, but very few were ever taught how to build businesses that become less dependent on them over time.

Most owners learned through experience: how to win work, how to solve problems, how to lead crews, how to keep things moving under pressure. But as the business grows, so does the complexity underneath it.

Eventually, many owners realize: the company depends on them more than they expected.

That realization affects more than the business itself. It affects family decisions, long-term planning, future flexibility, and the ability to ever fully step away.

Cornerstone works with owners across the North Shore & Greater Boston, and with construction and trade businesses beyond it.

Growth alone doesn’t create freedom.

For many owners, growth solves old problems while quietly creating new ones. Revenue increases. The company expands. Responsibilities multiply. At the same time, more decisions, relationships, and operational pressure begin flowing back to the owner.

Tax conversations happen separately from succession conversations.

Business decisions become disconnected from personal goals.

Important professionals operate independently instead of cohesively.

Not because they failed. Because nobody helped them build the structure underneath the growth.

What Cornerstone actually does

Cornerstone helps owners think more strategically about how the business, the owner, the family, and the future all connect.

That often includes helping coordinate conversations between accountants, attorneys, insurance professionals, and other specialists already involved in the business. Sometimes it means identifying operational gaps, concentrated risk, or areas where growth has outpaced infrastructure.

Sometimes it means helping owners prepare for future transitions, leadership changes, or succession conversations long before they become urgent. And sometimes it simply means helping someone see the full picture clearly for the first time in years.

The goal is not to add complexity. It’s to reduce it.

What we believe

Successful businesses should eventually create more freedom, not less.

Structure matters more than appearances.

Owners deserve coordinated guidance instead of fragmented advice.

The strongest businesses are the ones that can eventually thrive without constant owner dependence.

Where we work

Based in Beverly. Built for the North Shore.

Cornerstone works with owners across the North Shore and Greater Boston. If you’re beyond the North Shore, that’s fine. The conversation is the same.
